Let me strongly urge that if you open this up that it be with a final 
draft of the letter.  Asking (potentially) hundreds of people for 
comment is only asking for personal grief.

As I said, I have experience doing this, and the best way is to have 
a carefully crafted letter and simply ask people to join in the 
signing.
