Greetings,

A majority of the Board membership has voted in favor of the inclusion of Scott Moore of IBM to the CVE Board. Because a majority has already been achieved, the voting process has officially ended before the 12/15 deadline.

Based on the vote, we would like to welcome Scott to the Board. He will be added to the list of Board members on the CVE web site and included in all Board list communications from this point forward. Last, thanks to all those who voted. Please let us know if there are any questions.

About Scott:

Scott has managed the X-Force Vulnerability Database for 20 years which uses and references CVE IDs, and has managed the CNA part of the PSIRT process for IBM for 8 years. Scott became the CVE CNA for internally discovered vulnerabilities for the X-Force Research and Development team in 2006, and began assigning CVEs for vulnerabilities discovered both internally and externally for IBM products in 2009. Scott is a member and contributor to the CVSS v3 Special Interests Group, the CVE Automation group with George Theall, and also helped with the first release of CVRF.

Voting Results:

Note: There are 21 total Board Members, with 17 Total votes possible due to 1 vote per organization. 9 votes makes a simple majority.

  • 9 voted yes
  • 0 voted no
  • 8 non-votes at time of decision
