[CVEPRI] CVE Senior Advisory Council publicized

All,

Somehow this slipped through the cracks in the morass of legacy work
we've been doing over the summer :-)

While MITRE has been telling the Board about the Senior Advisory
Council for almost a year, and it is included in meeting summaries, we
not directly announced the Council's existence to the general public.
We have now publicized the Advisory Council on the CVE Web site.

See http://cve.mitre.org/advisory/ for the council charter and a list
of the council members.  The co-chairs are John Gilligan (Deputy CIO
of the US Air Force) and Sallie McDonald (Assistant Commissioner of
the Office of Information Assurance and Critical Infrastructure
Protection, US General Services Administration).

With respect to areas of CVE that may impact Editorial Board
activities, some of the Council's current interests are:

- CIEL development

- development of the roles and responsibilities for Editorial Board
  members (which I expect to finalize before the next Council meeting)

- establishing guidelines for the adoption of CVE-compatible products
  in government agencies

- establishing relationships with Information Sharing and Analysis
  Centers (ISACs)

We meet with the Council on a quarterly basis.  Our next meeting will
be in mid-September.  We will provide more details to the Editorial
Board after that meeting.
